REPORTS
AUSTRALIA DAY EVENT

The RC Nunawading Australia Day Committee has now agreed to assist the council at two of the 5 locations
in the City of Whitehorse

Halliday Park in Mitcham
Surrey Park in Box Hill South

We will assist with  QR codes and wrist bands as well as with barbecuing sausages.

The venues are going to be fenced and only 1,000 people are to be allowed in for a sausage, ice-cream and entertainment.

At the time of our last meeting we still needed a couple of volunteers for the barbecues and to sit at the entry to assist with the QR codes and wrist bands.
Two shifts need to be staffed between the hours of 10:30am  to 3:30pm.

If you are able to assist on the day at either venue could you please email Bob Davis with a preference to time and venue-  bob.lyn.davis@gmail.com

This will be an opportunity to showcase Rotary at each of these venues so please wear your Rotary gear.
BUNNINGS SAUSAGE SIZZLES

 SATURDAY FEBRUARY 7th

Bunnings has provided us with one more day for sizzling sausages.
Due to the fact that Sausage sizzles will no longer take place on Thursdays and Fridays, this may well be the last one for a very long time.
We still need a couple more volunteers to enable us to staff all positions in keeping with COVID safe practice.
Please contact Janette if you can help out

UPDATE FOR TAVENUI PROJECTS

Len forwarded these reports to me with a request that I  publish them in the Bulletin.
He also asks if the club would consider making a contribution to to these programs.
He and Bruce continue to collect spectacles for our Rotary eye projects.

 From Peter Malden

Eye Project

Due to impending changes in the funding of Global Grants, NZ and Boronia hurried through the application to obtain the maximum Foundation match for club donations.
I can again confirm that we were successful and the next Eye Project is thus fully funded and even better fully approved by Rotary Foundation, although it is subject to International Travel being resumed.
My best guess is we will be conducting the surgery part of the project in May of 2022.
Prior to that we will be training the Fiji Society for the Blind screening people and doing the patient testing to get the best candidates for the project.
I will be giving a full update in February once more things become clearer.
Your funding donation assisted in getting the grant approved – thank you.

School Assistance Project

NB. No Rotary Building was damaged during Cyclone Yasa.
We are in the process of increasing our normal Taveuni School Assistance Project to try to fund at least double the number of students this calendar year.
Should you or your club like to assist us in this International Project all we need is a pledge at this time.

Would you like to add a playground
