Exclusive Film Preview for Foundation - February 13

Rotary Foundation has confirmed negotiations for the release of a movie in February 2017 to raise funds for our Polio Eradication program. The Movie is HIDDEN FIGURES and we have booked Hoyts Forest Hill for Monday 13 February. The official Release Date is Thursday 16 February.

If we fill the cinemas we will raise approximately $ 1,200 for Polio Eradication and it will be matched 2 for 1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. An enjoyable evening out to preview a "feel good" movie will contribute $ 3,600 towards Rotary's 30-year Project.

• HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae)

• Brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history:

• The launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanised the world.

• The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Date: Monday 13 February
Time: Screening starts 6:30 pm sharp
Cinema: Hoyts Forest Hill
Address: Cnr Mahoneys Rd & Canterbury Rd
Price: $20 per person

International Womens Day Breakfast

Join us for the 2017 International Women's Day Breakfast in Box Hill on March 8th
The theme for our breakfast this year will be

so you are certain to be challenged, charmed and entertained - and enjoy a delicious breakfast as well!

Our speakers, including Dee Dee, of “Grubby and Dee Dee” fame, noted feminist Melinda Tankard Reist and Michelle Hickey, top women’s league footy player, will provide insights and anecdotes from their experiences with the media and will “ tell all” for our entertainment and edification.
So bring some friends or book a table and CELEBRATE!  Importantly, it's all for a good cause - the proceeds of the event will go to women's charity Project Respect.
