All Rotary Clubs and Rotaract Clubs across District 9815 are encouraged to host a Lift the Lid Hat Day at a club meeting in October, in support of Australian Rotary Health’s (ARH) vital mental health research. It's quite simple really, just allocate a club meeting, where all members are encouraged to wear a hat to participate. Hat Day is a fun and meaningful way to engage your members and raise awareness. Grab your quirkiest hat and rally your club members to make a small donation to ARH.
Mental illness affects one in five Australians, and through this initiative, we can help fund prevention, early intervention, and education programs that change lives. Resources and promotional materials are available to help you—just visit www.australianrotaryhealth.org.au. Don’t forget to share your photos and stories to inspire others and showcase your club’s creativity! Let’s, lift the lid, raise awareness, and make a difference—one hat at a time. Other ways you can help: • Invite an ARH guest speaker to your club later in the year or early next year. • Arrange a Lift The Lid Walk. • Encourage your club to partner with Australian Rotary Health to sponsor a Rural Medical Scholarship, Rural Nursing Scholarship or Indigenous Health Scholarship. These scholarships are $5,000 funded 50/50 with your club at $2,500 each. (Contact PDG Paul Mee -Director, Australian Rotary Health. All Rotarians can be very proud of ARH’s achievements over the past 40 years, but there is still lots more we need to do. Kind regards Peter Behm D9815 District Governor 2025/26 |
