Last weeks meeting

Notes from last weeks meeting:

Was our Christmas function at the Knox Club - around 60 Rotarians and their partners attended.

Pres. David thanked Pres. Elect Phil for the great job he did filling in as President whilst David was on holidays.  Also thanks go to Past Pres. Bruce for his assistance as well.

A number of people brought Christmas Pantry Packs and gifts for those over 40 years old for the Mitcham Corp of the Salvation Army.  Fleur from the Salvation Army was on hand to tell us a bit about what the Mitcham Corp do and to thank the club for their support.

Thanks to Sue C and Graeme M for organising the evening.  The Australianised versions of the Christmas carols were a great hit!

Thanks to Harvey for the photos below

A thank you from RC of Boronia

Hello president David,

On Friday last I collected just over 750 pairs of sunglasses from Len Brear at his home.

Len and your club have collected the sunglasses to support those in need in Fiji.

The sunglasses will be sent to Taveuni Island in Fiji in a container leaving Melbourne in

either mid February or mid March 2017.

They will be added to the ones we currently have collected for the Taveuni Eye Project and

I expect them to be distributed in the patients in the 2017 and 2018 projects.

I will supply a printed report on the 2016 Taveuni Eye Project when it is completed.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Nunawading for this very generous donation.

Yours in International Service,

Peter
