The event last Wednesday was fantastic. Thanks to Harvey, Russell and everybody else involved for organising the entertainment, the venue and everything else that went into making it such a success. It really has been all accelerator, no brakes this December.
Congratulations and thanks to everybody who participated in the hamper packing event. See the pictures of the crew getting everything together.
For those available, don't forget the breakfast on 17th December. There's probably still time to add your name.
This Wednesday we've got Chelsea Deacon, the community engagement advisor with Bendigo Community Bank Blacburn South. Chelsea and the bank's sponsorship was a big part of why this year's Youth Achievement Awards were so good. This is an opportunity to hear more about Chelsea and the bank she represents.
Please don't forget that the early bird deal for the District Conference in Hobart ends 31st December. You'll pay more if you put it off and then forget about it.
I'll see you this Wednesday and some of you again on Sunday for Whitehorse Farmers Market egg and bacon stall duties.
And of course we have the AGM before the meeting proper on Wednesday. I'll bring my stopwatch, and we can see how efficient we can make it.

This year the club is donating 70 Christmas hampers to the Ringwood Salvation Army, to distribute to families in need in Maroondah and Whitehorse. This continues a long tradition in our club, supporting those doing it tough via the Salvos.
The hampers contain a Christmas dinner - ham, veggies, cake, pudding, custard, milk, tea, coffee, chocolates, soft drink, fruit, jelly, etc, and an additional meal of pasta.
John Vickers was a well-loved past Rotary Club of Nunawading member who even after he left, walked around the Farmers' Market with Judith to collect the stallholders' money for a number of years. John was recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow in 1995 and again in 2008.
The Funeral Service will be held at Tobin Brothers Seasons of Life Chapel, 331 Maroondah Highway Ringwood, on Tuesday December 9th at 10:00 am.

The Dementia Cafe is on this Wednesday, and we are looking for afternoon tea donations, either store bought or homemade, something bite-sized. If you are able to provide some afternoon tea, you can either drop it off on Wednesday morning at Shia's house before 10:00am where Sue will collect it and take it for you. Or you can contact Sue directly to arrange collection with her.
The Umbrella Dementia Cafe is scheduled for every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 1:30 - 3:30 pm at the Hollows, Level 1, Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre, 70 Middleborough Road, BURWOOD EAST.
Our Club's contribution is to provide a lovely afternoon tea, often based on a theme (see below). Contributions from you all will make it extra special. If you're able donate anything — baked goods, sandwiches, or other treats — that would be fantastic.
Please contact Sue W. if you are able to assist. The more members that are involved, the better.
