U3A  Seniors Week 2022

On Sunday 2 October 2022, The University of the Third Age – Nunawading (U3A) in partnership with the City of Whitehorse, launched Seniors Week at the Nunawading Community Hub in Springvale Rd Nunawading.

The Rotary Club of Nunawading was invited to provide a sausage sizzle with drinks.  U3A also ran a raffle for the event.  The prizes were 2 quilts that had been put together by the quilting class at U3A.

The proceeds of the raffle were very kindly donated by U3A to RC of Nunawading and Gabby was delighted to be presented with a “cheque” for $2,000

U3A put on a great event which showcased a number of classes they run – these included a variety of dancing, singing, music, genealogy to name a few.  The Nunawading U3A is almost the biggest in Australia with 2,200 members.  It accepts people who are 50 or more years old and have retired or work part time.  A great organisation to help people live their best life.

The opportunity was taken to spread the word about the Whitehorse Farmers Market and RC of Nunawading.

Thanks go to Colin R for organising and assisting for the whole day and Bob A, Mike F, Di C, Janette E, Ian E, Judith E for assisting on shifts.  Also thanks to Rob J for helping with pack up
