CHANGEOVER 2020

Having completed a Brilliant  Year in office as President,  Gabby handed over the  Presidents Collar to Colin Read.
It was a changeover with a  difference. Physical Isolation restrictions meant that only  some of our members could dine at Bucatini, while many others attended  the meeting via Zoom.

Paul Harris Fellows

Russell Warmington was presented with a PHF + 3 sapphires –for his continuous efforts in Fund Raising and Fellowship, networking/ partnership building, Public Relations and Marketing and sharing his passion for Rotary

Roger Wilson was presented with a PHF + 2 sapphires –
for his contributions as treasurer for 5 out of the last 9 Rotary years and his overall contribution in many areas.

Sue Cross become a Paul Harris Fellow.
-for her work in increasing significantly the number of Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) donors from Nunawading with the Rotary Foundation, which led to a more than doubling of previous donation levels to Foundation for 3 consecutive Rotary years.

Our Newest Member - Ian Evans.
We were delighted to be able to formally welcome Ian Evans as our newest member at Nunawading. Many of us met Ian at some meetings before 'lockdown'.

He has also attended several of our Zoom meetings.
He transferred from the Rotary Club of Melbourne where he had been a member since 2009. He had been presented with a Paul Harris Fellow at a RC Melbourne meeting on 17 June 2020 for his significant and fruitful contribution to Membership.                                    More .....

NEWGEN'S CHANGEOVER
Report from Kiel

NewGen had its changeover on Sunday night with guests wearing funky hats or beanies in support of Australian Rotary Health's Lift The Lid On Mental Illness campaign. Apart from our Nunawading support team and new president Colin, we were also joined by 2019-20 Governor Shia, 2020-21 Governor Alma, Whitehorse councillor Prue Cutts, Malcolm Chiverton, Carol Lawton, Geoff Logie-Smith, Ryan Purdie and Diamond Creek Rotary's Linda Gidlund.

I presented our annual report and formally e-inducted Kevin as our new president, with some help from the funky cow mittens on my hat.

It has been such a joy to lead NewGen over the past 12 months and to have worked with Nat, Steve, Kevin, Ashley and past member Ashwin to transform our group from the brink of collapse into an award-winning, vibrant satellite club.

Our club will continue to meet fortnightly in 2020-21 at 5.30pm on Sundays, alternating between Zoom meetings and catch-ups at Coffee Club Knox. For July, we plan to have our next meeting via Zoom on the 12th, followed by a return to in-person meetings at the Coffee Club on the 26th.

Again, I thank everyone within the RC Nunawading 'mothership' for your ongoing support of our group, and I trust you will all offer that same support and good vibes to Kevin as we look to grow even more and build on our achievements this year.

Cheers –
Kiel
