Why Good Leaders Make You Feel Safe
Simon SINEK 2014
Watch it at

Rather than plagiarise cornerstone, I will direct you to a short critique of the program at

This was an engaging 'feelgood'  presentation evoking some interesting observations from members.
Harvey reminded us of the influence of shareholders, and Russ had very positive  things to say about Hewlett Packard, where, when there were downturns staff agreed to take 5% pay cuts while Management took 10% cuts in order to avoid layoffs.

 Excellence in Business Awards
John Lynch

Re Excellence in business awards in OCT 2021:
  • John has agreed once again to be a judge
  • RC Nunawading sponsors the young Business Leader award.
  • It would be good to have a table of Rotarians
He has been discussing with the WBG the possibility of having our Pride of Workmanship awards piggybacking off Business awards.
The WBG Board prefers not to do so this year for 2 reasons:
  • Their promotion has been under way for the last 3 months.
  • their venue will not be large enough to cope with the additional number of guests we bring in.
They are happy to support us if we do want to go ahead with the awards. John will discuss this further with the Board at Nunawading.
Bob Allardice
Bob and a small team of members will be
picking up Stanley Rd. playground on Thursday the 17th
