Grace Reiter, a Former Rotary Youth E
xchange student spoke at the club recently about her exchange to Germany back in 2015. Grace spoke about her experience of a lifetime at the age of 16 living in the small town of Telgte, Germany, located just outside the city of Münster (In the North West of Germany). In her time, she stayed with four host families, attended school and travelled all around Europe, even studying Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre, London. Grace also talked about what it meant to come home after exchange and going back to school. She talked about what she has done in the almost 5 years since her return, graduating a scholar of distinction, attending University, part-time jobs and where she hopes to see herself in the future. In all this she spoke about how her exchange made all her achievements possible, how she had to learn how to be confident, adaptive, independent and responsible and all the ways she has used these skills. She also spoke about the friends from her exchange who have come to Australia to visit and even stay with her and her family.
