Presentation of Deakin Community Awards and Citations at club meeting on 5 August as a result of the 2026 Deakin Community Awards

By way of an introduction
The awards were held at Whitefriars College school hall on Friday 10 July.
Approximately 140 people were in attendance.
From our club Harvey, Margaret and I were able to attend while awardee Russell was an apology being on holidays.
Also in attendance was Gabby with other Eastern Emergency Resource Network people.
Recipient of the following on Wednesday 5 August meeting.
- Presentation to Shia on the club being presented with a Volunteer Impact Award for contribution to local community.
- Presentation to Russell with Evergreen Spirit Award
[Harvey was able to attend the award night to receive his Evergreen Spirit Award].
- Presentation of a framed copy of the respective citations to both Harvey and Russell [see links]
Details of Deakin Community Awards
Volunteer Impact Award typically recognizes the measurable group or program results delivered by an organization or collective effort.
Evergreen Spirit Award honors an individual's enduring, long-term personal dedication, and steady, behind-the-scenes service.
