ImageA fantastic weekend at Castlemaine was attended by 26 Club members and their partners, along with Helen Munro. We all arrived at Castlemaine in time for drinks together at the motel on Saturday evening. This was followed by a wonderful dinner at the Public Inn. The meal was superbly prepared by the chef who was previously at Lake House in Daylesford.

On Sunday morning we had breakfast at The Republic Inn, before taking a walking tour of the many beautiful and historic buildings in Castlemaine. Following the tour we boarded the Steam Train to take us on a 45 minute trip to Maldon. The carriage we were travelling in was originally built in 1919, and was beautifully crafted. At Maldon we had lunch at the Maldon Hotel.

We were able to have about a 45 minute look around Maldon, and the Warmingtons and Taylors found some beautiful Mexican pottery to take back home. Who would expect to find Mexican pottery in an Australian Historical town?

The weekend was most successful with everyone having a great time, with alot of good fun and fellowship had by all. Our thanks to Ian Symons for organising the event, and running it so well.

Attendees were, Bob and Lyndy Davis, Wayne and Judi Willoughby, Colin and Jenny Taylor, Harvey Lane and Margaret Hodge, Sue and Russell Warmington, Ian Armstrong and Maria Pires, Judith Eadon, Suzanne Murphy, Len and Jill Brear, Jim and Annita Robson, Ian and Sandra Symons, Mike and Glenda Prior, John and Ann Lynch, Gabby Knaepple, and Helen Munro.
