On Thursday evening, 14 July, Bob Williams (Forest Hill Rotary) Judith Eadon and Gabby Knaepple attended an Community awards event at Sandown Greyhound Club.
The Rotary Youth Driver Awareness program via Road Safety Education Victoria received a grant. This was presented to Anton Hockey, who is the RYDA coordinator for Victoria. Anton spoke at one of our meetings more recently about RYDA.
There were 7 grant recipients all up and each recipient had a greyhound race named after them that ran on the night. RYDA was race 5!
The role played by CO2 in climate change was acknowledged by the mining community over 110 years ago.
On the 17th of July 1912, “The Braidwood Dispatch and Mining Journal” published a short article on page 4 entitled
“Coal Consumption Affecting Climate”.
The same article was published in many other newspapers including the “The Wyalong Advocate and Mining, Agricultural and Pastoral Gazette” on 27 Jul 1912 on page 3.
