District Seminar - The Rotary Foundation - Friday 8th November
This year’s Foundation Seminar is scheduled for the evening of Friday 8th November. Time and venue details will follow shortly, but please note the date in your calendar now.
The purpose of this seminar is to promote awareness and support of the Foundation – our charity of choice – and to share learnings from some of the projects and programs funded through the Foundation. In prior years we have covered matters such as:
- Keynote addresses from Foundation beneficiaries and advocates.
- Case studies of exemplary projects.
- Updates on how our District’s allocation of grants has been spent.
- Details on how Rotary clubs and members can support the Foundation financially.
- Updates on Polio eradication.
- Presentations on projects under development, looking for funding partners.
In preparation for this year’s seminar, we have several requests and suggestions:
- What would you like to hear about at this year’s seminar?
- Do you have a project under development for which you’d like a funding partner, and would you like to speak briefly about it at this year’s seminar?
- If you have some relatively new members in your Club, you may want to suggest that they take a look at the Foundation learning module in the Rotary Online Learning Centre. Rotary International have been building a number of very helpful online learning tools. Just log in to your MyRotary account, locate the learning centre: https://learn.rotary.org/members/learn/catalog and select the “Enrol” option to register. Then look for the following module: Rotary Foundation Basics.
- Would you like a presentation on the Foundation at your Club? If so, we can provide a speaker and tailor a session specifically for your needs.
Please reply on the questions above by close of business Friday 11th October. A follow up on registrations for the seminar will occur shortly thereafter.
