Well does time fly.
In one week’s time the first of the patients for the 2019 Taveuni Eye Project will have arrived on Taveuni Island and been tested and the operations schedule for the commencement of the sight restoring phase will have been completed.
 
There are a few things to tell you at this time. 
  • The new equipment has arrived on Taveuni and will be put in to service this week.
  • The required medical supplies have arrived and all is ready. 
  • Medical operations commence on October the 7th 2019.
  • Patients lists have been completed and travel plans are being implemented.
  • The medical team will assemble from Friday this coming week.
  • The local support teams are set to go and will commence to get the hospital ready from Friday this week.
     
The 2019 project will be a little different. We have worked on a live web site that will showcase the project and supply daily updates for all interested persons. Visit www.rotaryeyesfiji.com  to see the progress as we go. We encourage you to have a look and watch the project progress.
 
Work has commenced on the 2020 Project.  A number of Rotary Clubs and Districts across the world have given pledges in their budgets for coming Rotary years. We would ask you please consider adding a contribution to your budget for future years.
We are expecting the formal application for the 2020 Rotary Global Grant to be finalised around May 2020. Can I please ask that you share all of his information with your family, friends, members and anyone whom you think might be interested.
