Last week we heard from Tamsyn Lovass about her experience at the Chemistry Olympiad Summer School
Originally Rotary Club of Nunawading was sponsoring Tamsyn to attend the Summer Science Forum but after sitting a series of exams, she was one of 24 people from around Australia invited to attend the Chemistry Olympiad Summer School.
She was delighted that the after some discussions, the Club agreed to support her at the Chemistry Olympiad.
The Olympiad was an intensive course of lectures, tutorials and lab work over a period of 2 weeks.
Aim was to select top 4 students for the Australian team While Tamsyn didn’t make that team, she did receive a bronze medal for being in the top 14 and was the top ranked girl
As well as learning some much about chemistry Tamsyn has made a number of good friends across Australia.
The Olympian has increased her passion for science and her desire to undertake a university course in research chemistry.
She thanked the club for the opportunity to attend the Olympiad, and the Club is very proud of her and wished her well in her future studies.
