MEMBERSHIP FOCUS /GOALS / PROGRAM SUGGESTIONS 

DISCUSSION POINTS FOR PROGRAM SELECTION & PRIORITIES TO BE SET 

 

ROTARY MEMBERSHIP RETENTION AND GROWTH IS THE MOST CRITICAL OBJECTIVE FOR ROTARY INTERNATIONAL AT PRESENT

*District Governor Shia 9810 Objectives (Expand) 

* Rotary Nunawading Objectives to compliment the above  

 

Rotary Nunawading Focus and Priorities 

  • Retaining existing members 

  • Improve the Inducting of newer members to the Club 

  • Seeking new member opportunities 

  • Retirees needing a new interest 

  • Business people /Small business owners & those working from home 

  • Corporate Businesses / Allowing more than one representative/ need a link to Club programs / Work with Vocational  

  • School programs / Aurora / Blackburn High / Tintern School / A Whitehorse District primary school /Couple EarlyAct and Interact programs /Work with Youth and Community 

  • New Gen and Rotaract / Under 40’s focus 

 

Programs 

 

Serving Existing Members 

  • General Health of the Club 

  • The Need for some interesting local projects and some hands on opportunities. 

  • Good and Interesting Club speakers 

  • Good communication via the Club Bulletin and Social media 

  • Good Fellowship Programs 

  • More Partner and Family Involvement 

 

Our Newer Existing Members 

A good Mentor Program is critical for new members 

  • A more formal Mentor Program to be introduced 

  • Their introduction to fellow members / learning their names/ increasing their comfort levels. 

  • What the new members, know about Rotary and what they want from Rotary 

  • What strengths and interests new members bring to the Club 

  • Their Rotary Education/ Rotary international/District and Club 

  • What Committee would they like to serve on? 

  • Progressive new member review and feedback sought 

  • Early Family Club Involvement in fellowship and Club activities. 

 

Seeking New Member Opportunities 

  • New Retirees 

    • Volunteer Groups/Probus/Shopping Centre Promotions 

  • Corporate and Own Business owners 

    • Work with Vocational 

    • Whitehorse Business Group / Whitehorse Business List/ Door knock promotion 

    • Linkedin / Networking promotion/ Quality Speaker on a Current Topic 

  • Schools /Tafe / Universities 

    •  Need a good local program for involvement  

    • Work with Youth and Community 

    • Schools / Wheelathon Program / Fun Run 

    • Tafe Apprentice Awards 

    • Universities / Scholarship program / Part time work / Work Experience   

  • New Gen and Rotaract 

    • Seek New Gen plan to attract members 

    • Assist new President of New Gen to build membership / Ian A to assist

    • Develop a closer role with Rotaract Whitehorse / Attend meetings / Joint 

    • Programs / Interplast inclusion / Relay for life / Portsea Camp?

A need to research our Whitehorse Community current and future requirements  

Set up an appointment with the best Council representative 

Seek Whitehorse Council current community focus and trends 

  1. Ethnic groups / Festivals and celebrations /Locations / Contacts 

  1. Local Woman’s groups / Probus groups/ Attract U3A community members / Men’s Sheds 

 

Less of need to set formal targets but find a role for the future that will attract members because f good programs 

How can Rotary Nunawading complement and assist with some Council roles for the future?
