It takes teamwork to make good things happen. This was on display in December.
The Bunnings team plans sausage sizzle activities at its stores.
It is the Rotary Club of Nunawading team that cooks and serves the sausages as a part of its fundraising program for the local community.
The Rotary Club decided, with the proceeds from its Bunnings activities, to assist Eastern Emergency Relief Network with a $12,000 donation.
Eastern Emergency Relief Network, a team of 60 volunteers collects and provides donated household goods and furniture to those in need in the eastern suburbs.
In addition, at Christmas, it supplies around 300 hampers to those in the community suffering hardship.
A team of students from Blackburn High School and a team of helpers from Philip Webb Real Estate packed the hampers for distribution.
So 300 families, victims of domestic violence, refugees, and otherwise disadvantaged benefited from the many teams coming together in our community to have a merrier Christmas.
Pictured at Bunnings with hampers are (L-R) Rotarians Harvey Lane & Richard Tregear, Rotary President Janette Etherington, EERN President Ian Armstrong, & EERN volunteers Phil Senyard & Steve Richards.
