This Wednesday, hear from Deborah Nicholson as she speaks about Government House.
Saturday, 8 November, container loading in Kilsyth for the playgrounds project -- watch yours truly engage his rusty forklift skills.

The following two Wednesdays, 12 and 19 November, our Youth Achievement Awards nights -- stay tuned for logistics and duty responsibility announcements -- which are a great chance to recognise achievements and efforts by students that might otherwise go unnoticed.
A reminder: if you've received a message from me about WWC details, please get in touch.
The club will be helping out with the Mount Pleasant Road Primary School fete on the weekend of the 22nd. Please be receptive to calls to volunteer.
Very important: we plan to have our AGM on 26 November, the week before our Christmas function.
To prepare for next year, we will need to refresh the nominating committee. Are you good at making quick, informed decisions? Do you have an opinion about things? Do you have a couple of spare hours to help the club? Get in touch with me and you could help decide some of our portfolio leaders for next year.
Last Wednesday night, Coral Page and I did the draw and paired up the numbers with everyone’s names in the sweep. The final field came out last night. You’ll find the horse names and numbers in the left column. Just match the number next to your name to see which horse — or perhaps donkey — you’ve ended up with!
On November 8th from 7:30 am, we will be packing a 40-foot container with 12 or 13 playgrounds for shipment to Sri Lanka. The location is at Arena Gardens (John Arena's yard) at 6 Cloverlea Drive, KILYSTH SOUTH. The Google Maps reference is here.
It is big job and we need as many volunteers as possible. Please let Rob Jackson know if you can spare a few hours in the morning.
Last Monday, Road Safety Education (RSE) and Nunawading Rotarians hosted some 140 students from Keysborough College. The venue was Sandown Racetrack with the rain holding off for the day. This was good for the 'Speed & Stopping' session! We were light on helpers, however the management skills of Karen from RSE came into play, organising a seamless delivery of each segment. Students and teachers were most attentive, with one teacher commenting - it was her first Ryda and how impressed she was with the program!
You were missed Bob W, so there was lots of talk behind your back!
A new school, Lilydale Heights College has recently joined the program with their date being Monday 10th November. Lilydale Youth Chair, Simon advised he has three volunteers of the six required and will seek more at their meeting next week. Simon asked if Nunawading could please assist. I am OK to help and provide transport to Lilydale Lake for any Nunawading members who could assist. Please let Bob Williamsknow if you can help. We need only two.
The weather was perfect for our Saturday Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. Our profit was a very good $1,843.43. Even though the weather was good, the number of people attending Bunnings seemed to be a little down.
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who helped on the day - Mike F, John, Dick, Katy, Graeme, Harvey, Marg, Sue, Ken, Coral, Althea, Ian E, Wendy, Gabby, Bob W and Russell.
Our next Bunnings Sausage Sizzle is on Saturday 6th December, please let Russellknow if you can help on a shift.
Please see attached the platinum Sponsorship agreement for 2026 proposal. It’s been noted that Rotary’s preference would be to continue with the direct support of the SALT (Sports and Life Training) sessions.
On behalf of the committee, we really appreciate this support and has been amazing for the club and its community.
Many thanks,
Liam Routledge Treasurer Jets Junior Football Club
